The KMT has been established in 2001 and since then has been involved as coordinator/partner in a number of research projects, and the national competence centre - Salzburg NewMediaLab (SNML).

The Centre for Education and New Learning CENL at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) with a staff of eleven employees is one of the largest centres for e-Learning and New Media in a Swiss university of applied sciences. CENL is responsible for coordinating the project. The CENL team consists of social science and technical experts and will keep track with the managerial aspects of the projects organization, as well as its research and management part.
